Gutach Valley Mill Cuckoo clock

This is the official Cuckoo clock of the year for 2008 as certified by the Association of Black Forest (VdS).

The central element of this very large and striking clock is the hand painted, hand carved children figurines surrounded by the day to day activity of a busy farm. The decoration is extensive with a plethora of wild life and farm yard pets. The small pond is yet another feature that would be found beside a traditional Farm house as a source of water in the event of a fire. Another striking feature is the hand laid shingle roof with the Bell Tower and the dormer style window. Highly decorated with a variety of farm animals and farm side objects. The hand-painted child figurines that turn on the hour are also equipped with their own musical Instruments.

A truly stunning piece. The case is finished in an antique walnut finish. 8 day rack-strike movement with a cuckoo call on the half and full hour. The high quality Swiss (Reuge) music plays a twin melody that alternates between Edelweiss and the Happy wanderer.
